TIBERIAN SUN HARVESTER BOMBS

HARVESTER BOMB TACTICS AND STRATEGIES

Blue Harv bomb: One Harvester full of Blue Tiberium is explosive and can hurt or destroy units and buildings next to it when it blows up. Some units and structures are only hurt a little, some are hurt a lot, and some are destroyed.

Green Harv bomb: A Harvester full of Green Tiberium is still explosive but only inflicts about one third of the damage as a Harvester full of Blue Tiberium. The full Green Harvester bomb is not strong enough to destroy any buildings, but it will bring a Tiberium Silo to one bar of red health and if you do not immediately repair the Tiberium Silo, the resulting fire can destroy it.

Empty Harv = no bomb: An empty Harvester will inflict zero damage to nearby units when it is destroyed.

Don't waste blue Harv bomb: A Harvester full of Blue Tiberium is worth $1120. Not including the future harvested money. If you do send a Harvester Bomb, make it count, because it is expensive. (Especially in early game when both players do not have a lot of money)

Empty decoy Harv bomb: The enemy can not see whether or not your Harvester is empty, has green tiberium, or is full of blue Tiberium. So sometimes it makes sense to send empty harvesters in front to protect your explosive Harvesters full of blue tiberium. Your empty Harvester will give your Blue Harvester Bomb time to drive next to the building you want to blow up, the empty Harvester in front will receive all the damage, unless the enemy figured out what you are doing and happens to manually attack your second Blue Harvester Bomb manually, but this is extremely rare.

Harv bomb blast radius = 2 cells: The best place to put a blue harvester bomb is right next to a building or unit. If the Blue Harvester Bomb can destroy a unit right next to it, then it can also destroy that unit 2 cells away, but not 3 cells away. (Example: The planes can be destroyed 2 cells away) Some buildings with low health like the Tiberium Silo can be destroyed 2 cells away from a Harvester Bomb, but most buildings will not. (Example: The War Factory will not be destroyed if the Harvester is 2 cells away)

Blue Harv bomb destroys 2 or more buildings: If your enemy's buildings are one cell apart, you might be able to place your Harvester Bomb in-between both buildings and destroy 2 or more buildings with one Harvester Bomb!

Multiple Blue Harv bomb = bigger boom: You can increase the damage of Harvester Bombs by placing two or more next to each other. If one Harvester has very low red health, then it will explode when you blow up the other Harvester. (Example: Two Harvester Bombs placed next to the Construction Yard and next to each other, will destroy the Construction Yard, if both Harvesters explode at the same time.) The Harvester self heals somewhat slowly, so if you damage one to very low red health and very quickly blow the Harvester up next to it, the first Harvester should blow up before it heals too much to die from the explosion of the second Harvester.

MCV un-deploy = save Construction Yard: If you have Redeployable MCV = ON in the game settings, then you can save a Construction Yard from being destroyed by two Harvester Bombs by undeploying it. Two Harvester Bombs will not kill a Mobile Construction Vehicle (MCV).

Blue Harv bomb vs MK2: The Mammoth MK2 is extremely strong, even 2 or 3 Blue Harvester Bombs will not destroy the Mammoth MK2. This being said, you might as well drive your Blue Harvester Bomb into the Mammoth MK2 if your Harvester can't out run it and is going to die anyway.

Harv truce = no Harv bombs: Harvester Truce being on in the game settings makes Harvesters invincible. Blue Harvester Bombs will not work if you have Harv truce on.

Squish soldiers before Harv bomb boom: You might want to try to run over enemy soldiers, especially Engineers. Depending on how many enemy units are damaging your Harvesters bomb, you might have time to run over several soldiers before placing your Harv bomb next to a building.

Surrender = Multiple Harv bomb boom: If you are playing in a team game, and your base is basically destroyed, always send all your Blue Harvester Bombs to the enemy base. When you surrender, all of your Harvester Bombs will explode at the same time, destroying multiple enemy buildings or units. Always make sure to fill your Harvesters with blue Tiberium before your last Refinery is destroyed because your harvesters will not eat Tiberium if you do not have a Tiberium Refinery. (Note: Blue Harvester Bombs will not explode if Harvester Truce = ON in the game settings.)

Trick enemy into Harv bomb surrender = win: When only two players are left in the game and you have come to a stale mate, neither side will have any units, production buildings, money, buildings to sell for cash/infantry, or any helipads to reload planes on, there is one last option to win the game. You can trick your enemy into sending his last harvester bombs to all of your buildings and surrendering. If he thinks his Harvester bombs will blow up all of your buildings and force a draw, he might do this. If your enemy does not know that Blue Harvester bombs will not destroy some types of buildings, he might just surrender and lose the game. Your remaining buildings will make you the winner of the game. This stale mate circumstance is rare, but if you can convince the enemy to surrender a draw, this trickery can win the game!

Blue Harv Bomb next to Warf: When you place the Blue Harvester bomb next to a War Factory, vehicles will automatically start to shoot the Harvester once they drive off of the pavement in front of the War Factory. You can immediately click on the vehicle as soon as it is built (while it is still in the War Factory) and send it far from the War Factory to avoid it shooting the Harvester. It is annoying to have to constantly move your vehicles away from your War Factory, so there is another option. You can left mouse click on the War Factory and then left mouse click somewhere on the map far away from the War Factory so that each vehicle will drive far away from the War Factory after exiting. They will not shoot the Harvester, but will target it. The vehicle will drive to the location on the map you set, then it will drive back to shoot the Harvester, so make sure you (once again) manually move the vehicle somewhere on the map so it does not return to destroy the Harvester.

Blue Harv bomb vs GDI Warf: The GDI War Factory has a slight disadvantage because of the Titan and Hover Mrls. These two units will attack the Harvester even as they drive to the location on the map you set. The Titan will shoot 3 times at the Harvester before driving far away, and the Hover Mrls will shoot the Harvester 2 times as it drives away to the location you set on the map. So be careful when making those two units. You must manually send them far away as soon as they are built so they don't shoot the Harvester as they exit.

Where to place your Harv bomb to kill Ref/Warf: If you would like to see an example of where to place the Blue Harvester Bomb to ALWAYS destroy a Tiberium Refinery you can see a picture of this on page 44 of Mole40k's Tiberian Sun Strategy guide at the following link: https://mjryder.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Tiberian-Sun-guide-v4-c-Mole40k-2013.pdf . The Harvester in the picture on page 44 of the link above is placed on the side of the Tiberium Refinery, and it is the same location that a Blue Harvester Bomb will destroy a War Factory. (on the side, in the middle) The harvester can be facing any direction while it is sitting next to a building, it can be perpindicular facing the building or parallel to the building, this will not affect the outcome. As long as you put the Harvester in the correct location, the Tiberium Refinery or War Factory will be destroyed when the Blue Harvester bomb blows up from enemy fire.

Destroy your own Harv bomb: If you drive your Blue Harvester Bomb into a group of units and the enemy uses CNTL force fire on the ground so that his units don't shoot your Harvester, then you can use your own units to destroy the Harvester Bomb. Simply CNTL force fire on your Harvester with your own units. (The Nod Banshee and Orca Fighter are very fast units to do this quickly.) You can also shoot your Harvester that is next to buildings to blow it up. It might make sense to do this if your Harvester has low health because it might save your planes ammo if you are using planes to attack. It might take fewer shots to kill your low health harvester next to a building, than the number of shots to destroy the enemy building that the harvester is next to.

Carryall Harv Bomb: A Carryall can drop a Harvester Bomb with low health next to an enemy's building so that it blows up faster. The Harvester does not self heal while riding on a Carryall.

Eat enemy's Blue Tib for Harv Bomb: Save your own Blue Tiberium and eat the enemies Blue Tiberium for Harv bombs.

Destroy enemy Blue Harv Bombs next to their buildings: Blue Harv bombs deliver damage to your own buildings. Use this to your advantage and attack the enemy's Harvesters when they are next to their own buildings. This strategy saves your Harvesters and keeps your economy stronger than wasting one of your Harvesters. Keep an eye on which enemy Harvesters have eaten Blue Tiberium.

STRATEGIES TO COUNTER A HARVESTER BOMB

Destroy Harv bomb fast: Try to destroy a Harvester Bomb before it reaches your buildings to prevent it from destroying your buildings.

Light Infantry steal Harv Bomb: The enemy can steal your Harvester Bomb if they surround it, hold ALT, and rapidly fire at it with the left mouse click. This trick is hard to do and it is rare to see this tactic work; however, it is possible.

Mutant Hijacker steals Harv Bomb: An enemy Mutant Hijacker can steal your Harv Bomb and use it against you. You can use a Mutant Hijacker to steal an enemy's Harvester Bomb too.

Stopped vehicle on Warf pave = Prevents blue Harv Bomb: If you stop a vehicle on the pavement in front of a War Factory with the "S" = stop hotkey, one blue Harvester bomb will not destroy it. This trick only works for the War Factory and not a Tiberium Refinery.

Pause vehicle build = lure Warf Harv Bomb: A vehicle exiting the War Factory can prevent one Blue Harvester Bomb from destroying the War Factory. You can pause a vehicle build so that the enemy might be lured into trying to blow up your War Factory. Once the enemy has setup his Harvester Bomb next to your War Factory, un-pause your vehicle so that it exits the War Factory as you destroy the blue Harvester bomb.

Hidden vehicle inside Warf = prevents Harv bomb: You can hide a vehicle inside a War Factory by placing the War Factory right as the vehicle is ready to be built. The vehicle will not exit the War Factory and hide inside it instead. A hiding vehicle inside a War Factory can prevent one blue Harvester bomb from destroying the War Factory.

Glitch the Carryall Harv Bomb landing: You can place units or structures under a Carryall to keep it in the air longer. This tactic might cause the Carryall to die from Sams.

Harv Bombs and Tunnels,Terrain, water: The enemy can not as easily keep track of which of your Harvesters has blue Tiberium if you send several under a bridge. Harvesters can not be destroyed while inside a Tunnel. Harvesters can not travel on water, you can block one side of your building from a Harvester bomb by building it next to water.

Block the Warf/Ref Harv bomb kill spots with units or structures: You can block the 2 kill spot locations on the side of the War Factory or Tiberium Refinery with a Wall Section, Gate, Tiberium Silo, or Laser Fence Post. Of these options, the Tiberium Silo is the cheapest, but it uses 10 power. The Gate is probably the best because it covers more area than one Wall Section which can provide protection from Nod's Subterranean APC Engineer attack too. If you are Nod, then the Laser Fence post is cheaper than a Gate or Wall Section.

Walls, Laser Fences, and Gates = prevent Harv Bomb:  You can block Harvester bombs with Walls, Laser Fences, or Gates.

Buildings can block Harv Bombs: Buildings built close together can block a Harvester bomb.

Map specific walls can block Harv Bombs: Walls that exist on a map can be used to block sides of a building from a Harvester Bomb. (Example: the walls on the map BBG)

Destroy Blue Tiberium = less blue Harv Bombs: You can destroy blue Tiberium on the map to prevent the enemy from sending as many blue Harv Bombs. (Note: This strategy also prevents you from sending blue Harv Bombs too. When blue Tiberium is destroyed, some of it still remains on the map so this tactic is probably not the best way to prevent Harv bombs.)

EVEN MORE 2025 Harvester Bomb Info:

Harv attack = easily defended: The Harvester attack is easily defended by pros and an expensive attack. It puts you at a disadvantage with money. (Note: use it to blow up the enemy's first Tiberium Refinery and they will lose a lot of money too if they don't sell the Refinery in time.

The cost of a Harvester Bomb Attack is large: You have to factor in the Tiberium hauls worth of money that the Harvester would bring instead of using as an attack. You also have to factor in the cost of a new Harvester being built to replace it.

Harb Bomb clears path: The Blue Harvester bomb can make enemy units avoid it which can clear the enemy base of defenses for a Nod Engineer attack in Subterranean APCs or other attacks.

Nod Harv Bombs & Engi attack: Since Nod uses Engineer attack more often than GDI, Nod can afford to send more Harvester Bomb attacks by stealing his enemies money, and gaining money from the stolen building. Nod relies on Harvester Bomb attacks more than GDI. Harvester bombs can clear the way for follow up Engineer attack too.

MK2, GS, Diz shoot across multiple Harv Bomb: The Mammoth MK2, Ghost Stalker, and Disrupter can shoot through multiple low health Harvester bombs to blow them up at the same time. (Example: land 2 very low red health Harvesters next to enemy MCV at same time with two Carryalls. Now send your Mammoth MK2 to shoot across both of them and explode them both with one shot, destroying the enemy Construction Yard in one shot.

Mutant Hijacker steals Harv Bomb: Steal the enemy's Harvester Bomb and use it against him or destroy the Harvester and save your Mutant Hijacker.

Carryall no self heal damaged harv bomb: The Harvester does NOT self heal while a Carryall is attached to them. You can use this feature to your advantage by damaging a Harvester full of blue Tiberium to extremely low red health and quickly landing a Carryall on it. When you do this, you can fly very long distances to the enemy base and drop the Blue Harvester Bomb right next to an enemy's building. If you damaged the Harvester enough, it will only take one or two shots from the enemy to blow it up, when you land the Harvester in their base. Make sure to land it next to enemy defenses, they might not expect the Harvester to blow up that fast if they did not see you damage it earlier.

Harv Bomb save plane ammo: If your Blue Harvester Bomb is in the middle of a group of enemy units or buildings, it might make sense to attack your own Harvester with planes to save the planes ammo because the Blue Harvester Bomb can destroy multiple units. (Especially if your Harv Bomb has low health, this will save even more of your plane's ammo)

Carryall “S” harv bomb numbering: If you drop two low health Harvester bombs into the enemy number the Harvesters so you can stop them faster once they land next to the enemy Construction Yard.

Send Harv Bomb before done -Team Game: Send Blue Harvester Bombs to the enemy before your base is destroyed in a team game. Do not surrender early without sending Harvesters. This gives your team mate time to win.

Ahead on econ = harv bomb: The more money you have, in relation to your enemy's money amount, can help you not be worried about how much it cost to send a Harvester Bomb. You can keep sending them as long as you have a lot more money than the enemy. (Harvesters might be easy to defend, but they are annoying)

Harv bomb wastes OrcaB/Harpy for Engi attack: A Harvester Bomb can waste Orca Bomber or Harpy ammo before you send an Engineer attack to steal an enemy building. (works the best if enemy Orca Bomber or Harpy are on a waypoint loop with CNTL+ALT)

Steal Ref = Blue harv bomb: If you time your Engineer attack and steal a Tiberium Refinery right as a full blue Harvester is about to dump, you can steal the Tiberium Refinery and get a full blue Harvester too. Immediately drive the Harvester out of the Tiberium Refinery and use it as a Harvester bomb (or let it dump the money if you have time, before you sell the Tiberium Refinery)

Harv Bomb = 3 cells damage: The Blue Harvester bomb can deliver damange to some enemy vehicles up to three cells away. Stay far away from Blue Harvester bombs.

Blue Harv Bomb wastes plane ammo: Blue Harvester Bomb can waste your enemy's planes ammo trying to destroy it. (Consider sending one if the enemy is using a lot of plane and few vehicles for defense, especially if they have few Helipads)

Wolv Buggy warf pave harv counter: Even 1 Wolverine or 1 Attack Buggy parked on the Pavement in front of the War Factory can prevent a blue Harvester Bomb from destroying the War Factory.

Enemy counter harv = switch building: If your enemy counters your Harvester bomb by placing a vehicle or two on the pavement in front of their War Factory or Tiberium Refinery, you can quickly move the Harvester to another building to see if you can lure different enemy units into destroying your Harvester bomb next to a different building.

Counter Mass Harv Bomb with rush: If the enemy sends a lot of Harvester Bombs at same time to your base you can rush with your units to the enemy base so they don't accidently blow up the enemy Harvesters near your buildings.

Counter Mass Harv with Mass Harv: You can counter a massive Harvester Bomb attack by sending your own massive Harvester Bomb attack.

2 harv bomb kill MCV +Warf: If you park two blue Tiberium Harvester Bombs next to each other in between CY and Warf, they can blow both buildings up, when normally a CY requires two Harv bombs sitting next to it to blow it up. Seperate your Warf/CY by 3 spaces or more to counter this.

Seperate CY Warf 3 spaces counter Harv: You can seperate your Construction Yard and War Factory by three cells so that two Harv bombs can park next to each other in between two buildings to blow both of the buildings up.

Power down harv defend: Consider powering down defensive buildings so they don't destroy Harvester Bombs ( Laser, Obe, Vulcan, RPG)

Low health blue Harv = save shots ref kill: You can use Banshee to destroy a low health Harvester with blue tiberium inside it right when the Harvester starts dumping. This can destroy the Tiberium Refinery it is dumping in at same time. Harv takes 11 shots to kill, and Refinery takes 9-10 banshee shots to destroy, so... Attack any Harvester with half health = uses less Banshee shots to kill Refinery.

Unpaused Warf vehicle stops Harv bomb: Have a vehicle on pause ready to be almost built, and unpause it right before your units destroy an enemy Harvester Bomb next to your War Factory. It might need to be a bigger vehicle like a Titan. When the vehicle drives out of War Factory, it prevents one Harvester Bomb from blowing up War Factory.

MCV has 2-4 health bars after Harv bomb: The Construction Yard can have two, three, or four health bars after one Harveser full of blue Tiberium blows up next to it. This depends on the map and where the Harvester was sitting next to the CY. It might be best to park the Harvester on left side of CY, one cell left of perfectly above CY. One Orca Fighter can finish off the CY if enemy does not repair fast enough, Two Orca Fighter can finish off the CY even if enemy repairs fast. (One Banshee can probably finish CY in three swoops,Send two Banshee if you want to be absolutely sure)
