2024 TIBERIAN SUN STRATEGY GUIDE –VETERAN BALANCE--

CNCNET.ORG TIBERIAN SUN ------ GAME SETTINGS EXPLAINED

Speed: This is the Game speed 1-7

Credits: This is the amount of money you will start the game with.

Unit Count: This is the number of units that you will start the game with.

Tech Level : This is the highest technology level that you are allowed to build in a game, it can restrict what units and structures you build.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bases: This determines whether or not you start the game with an MCV or not.

Allies Allowed: This setting allows you to ally/unally team mates (with the “A” button)

Crates: Crates give you special presents when you walk over them, if this is turned on.

Harvester Truce: If you turn on harvester truce, you will not be able to damage harvesters.

Fog of War: If you turn this on, the black fog of war will regenerate. (its pretty annoying)

Bridges Destroyable: This allows you to destroy bridges.

Firestorm Game: This controls whether or not you are playing a Firestorm game, which has newer structures and units like the Mobile EMP Cannon

Multiple Factory: When you turn this on, each factory you build makes units build faster. (This was patched and reduced in strength)

MVC Undeploy: If you turn this on, you can move a Construction Yard after it has deployed.

Short Game: If this is turned on, the game will be over when all the enemy structures are destroyed. If it is turned off, then any random enemy units alive on the map will keep the game from ending. Hunter seeker is used to find the remaining units, if this is the case.

Multi Engineer: If this is on, then it takes 3 engineer to steal a building, if it is turned off, it only takes 1 engineer to steal a building.

Aimable Sams: If this is turned on, you can manually target enemy flying units with Sams. (This can be useful to avoid shooting anti air fodder units in front of an attack, and shooting the flying units that matter) Some pros like this setting, and even though it is not a legacy setting, it can sometimes be allowed in tournament play. It does require skill to click on a plane while it flies through the air.

Build off Ally: If this is on, then you can build new buildings next to your team mate's buildings.

Shared Control: If this is on, you can share control of your units with your ally.

Attack Neutral Units: If this is on, your units will automatically target random units on the map that are nearby like visceroids or fiends for example.

SOME OF THE TRICKS PLAYERS USE IN GAME SETTINGS....

Host rules advantage: Some players like to make rules before a game, you should listen to a host's rules before a game, even if they are silly rules that give the host some advantage.

Look at Game Lobby Settings before game: Always pay attention to the game settings before a game starts. Some players like to be sneaky and change the game settings to win a match. Here are a few examples.....

Multi Engineer = off trick: Some hosts leave Multi Eng off so you can steal 5 buildings with 1 apc and 5 engineer.

MCV Undeploy on = avoid 1shot diz or Engi: Leave MCV Undeploy ON so you can undeploy your MCV if it is targeted by a Disrupter or Engineer attack

Fog of war ON = many hidden MCV: Leave fog of war on, so you can hide a million MCVs all over the map in the regenerating fog of war. T

Switch Color/Faction right before game starts: Some players like to switch factions, colors, or start positions right before you start a game, hoping you didn't see it and will start the game anyway.

AIMABLE SAMS

Aimable Sams friendly fire Alt Crash: If you turn on Aimable Sams in the game lobby settings you can target your own planes or your ally's planes. This might be useful if your Sam is near an enemy's building and you want to ALT crash your (or your ally's) plane into their building. You can shoot down the plane with your own Sam. You could steal an enemy's building with Engineers, build a Sam, and ALT crash your (or your ally's) plane into an enemy building.

Aimable Sams only targets flying units: If you target an enemy plane while it is on the ground, the Sam will not shoot the plane when it takes off. The Aimable Sams option, only lets your Sams target different planes flying in the air.

Aim Sams 8 Orca B: When Aimable Sams is turned on in the Game Lobby Settings, You can set multiple group numbers to groups of Sams during the game and try to attack with perfect numbers. For Example, make 8 Banshee in one group to destroy one Banshee in one shot. (This is kind of tedious, but might help you avoid shooting at fodder units in front of aerial attacks)

Aim Sams 6 for Carryall: Six Sams in a group can all shoot at one Carryall and take it down in one shot.

ATTACK NEUTRAL UNITS

Attack Neutral Units = On: If you put this setting on in the game settings, your planes might waste ammo on civilian units, visceroids, or visceroid fiends, etc....

MULTIPLE FACTORY

Multiple MCV = build faster: If you set the option Multiple Factory on, in the game settings, then every Construction Yard you have makes you build faster buildings.

Build off Ally defense: This option lets you build next to enemy buildings. Keep an eye on where your ally buildings are and when they are being attacked. You can help defend ally's base or attack from your ally's outbuild location.

Harvester Truce = harv scout: If Harvester Truce is turned on in the Game Lobby Settings, it is more likely that the enemy will use an invincible Harvester to scout your base. Pro tournament games do not turn this setting on.

Harvester Truce = Harv squish: If Harvester Truce is turned on in the Game Lobby Settings, the enemy is more likely to use the Harvesters to squish soldiers that can be run over. (slight Nod advantage because Ghost Stalker can be squished but not Mutant Hijacker)

Understand Maps & Color Starts: Different color players start in different areas. This is unique to each map you play. Understand the map colors and you will know where all the good and weak players are in a game. You will be able to scout players that are known to quit early first and attack them first. The game instantly becomes 4v3 and you usually win. (Note: Remember which players get mad and quit early, keep a notebook with player profiles if you need to) Some players quit because they lose a team mate early, consider avoiding attacking them until later. Some players can bunker down very strong, consider leaving them for last.

Ask pro players how they won: Ask pro players how they beat a player that you can not. Ask them to spectate and help during the game. Some will help.
